Trip to Oyem

transpixel It took most of Friday afternoon to organize transportation ot Oyem.  In this case, we found a driver with a covered pickup, a common forrm of inter-city transportation. transpixel

transpixel This is where  we stopped for dinner.  Ndjolé is a trucker's town.  Many cargos are transferred between truck, train, and boat there. transpixel

transpixel This is a memorial to Gabonese soldiers killed during WWI.  Gabon was a German colony before it was turned over to France after WW1.  Our driver was quite proud of it, and insisted that we so I could take a picture, even though it was nighttime. transpixel
