transpixel We didn't leave Libreville until late in the day, so it was dark when we arrived at the sign marking the equator. According to my GPS, though, we were actually 0.5 miles south of the equator. transpixel

transpixel I'm still amazed that after 3 weeks in Gabon, this was the first flat tire that I experienced. Gabonese roads make Detroit roads look like roller skating rinks. transpixel

transpixel Because the roads are so bad, there is a huge roadside tire repair industry. Here, Herve is waiting (with the rest of us) for the tire to be fixed. transpixel

transpixel In Lamborene, we stayed with Terrance, one of FJ's old friends. When we arrived, Terrence fixed us a huge green salad from his garden. It was one of the best things I had tasted in a long time since fresh vegetables weren't commonly available in Libreville. transpixel

transpixel Terrence makes his living by gardening and selling the vegetables. Here, he's showing us his seedling area. Seedlings need to be protected from the heavy rain by palm fronds. transpixel
